Santa's Helpers Wrap Hundreds of Gifts

Now in its 21st year, the "Santa's Helpers" program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor has been brightening the holidays for deserving children in surrounding communities. Each year, the hospital works with local social service agencies to obtain holiday "wish lists" from families in need.

Yorktown High School Students Bring Holiday Music To Field Home

Yorktown High School students had plenty of holiday spirit and shared it with those at the Field Home, a health care and community services facility on the border of Cortlandt Manor and Yorktown. Members of Students Against Destructive Decisions gathered after classes on Wednesday to visit the patients and sing holiday songs in what has become an annual tradition.

Cortlandt Manor Woman Charged With DWI After Crash

A Cortlandt Manor woman was arrested on Tuesday by the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks on a charge of driving while intoxicated, police said. Brianna C. Kelly, 25, was arrested after troopers responded to the scene of a reported one-car auto accident.

A Cortlandt Manor woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly stealing merchandise from the Macy's in Jefferson Valley Mall, according to Yorktown Police. At about 4:16 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at the Macy's located at 700 Lee Blvd., according to police.

Cortlandt Senior Sentenced in Wife Shooting

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Mario Vallorosi of Cortlandt Manor, New York was sentenced today to three-and-one-half years in state prison for shooting his wife. On June 15, 2013 at about 4 a.m., the defendant shot his wife at close range with a shotgun at their home at 10 Udell Court in Cortlandt Manor.

Westchester Man Sentenced In Shotgun Shooting Of His Wife

Mario Vallorosi, a 78-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident, was sentenced Wednesday to 3.5 years in prison for shooting his 74-year-old wife. Vallorosi pleaded guilty to attempted assault in the first degree, a Class C violent felony in August, admitting to shooting his wife at close range with a shotgun in their home on Udell Court back in June 2013.

Cortlandt Manor Man Charged With DWI

A deputy sheriff responded to a report of a dispute on Marsh Hill Road in Putnam Valley on Nov. 28, shortly after 12:30 a.m. According to the report, the suspect had driven away from the scene in an "intoxicated condition." After locating the suspect a short distance away, the deputy determined that the suspect, later identified as Michael Sherpf, 49 of Cortlandt Manor, was intoxicated.
