Lakeland Grad Tori Jarosz Earns Conference Honor For Marist Basketball

Sixth-year senior Tori Jarosz, a senior from Cortlandt Manor, has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Female Student-Athlete of the week, the conference announced. Jarosz, a Lakeland grad, currently leads the Red Foxes in points per game with 14.5, rebounds per game with 9.8, and is averaging 28.3 minutes per game in the team's first four games of the year.

Yorktown HS Football Team Donates $2,000 To Hudson Valley Hospital

Team captains from the Yorktown High School football team visited the New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor on Wednesday to hand over $2,000, which the Huskers and their fans raised for the Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. The money was raised at Yorktown's homecoming game on Oct. 2, designated a "pink" game for breast cancer awareness.

Man Charged With Stealing From Kohl's In Cortlandt Manor

A 26-year-old Peekskill resident was arrested for shoplifting a jacket at a Kohl's department store in Cortlandt Manor on Thursday. Eric T. Flores was arrested for two counts of Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor after State Troopers were dispatched to Kohl's department store for a larceny complaint, according to state police.

At 5 p.m., near Riverfront Green park, Brian Calabro was at Peekskill Yacht Club when he saw three men floating in the water, according to LoHud . Calabro and John Ricci, a Cortlandt Manor resident, hopped into a motorboat and went to rescue the three men who were hanging onto a capsized jet ski.
