Members of Students Against Destructive Decisions gathered after classes on Wednesday to visit the patients and sing holiday songs in what has become an annual tradition.

Cortlandt Senior Sentenced in Wife Shooting

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Mario Vallorosi of Cortlandt Manor, New York was sentenced today to three-and-one-half years in state prison for shooting his wife. On June 15, 2013 at about 4 a.m., the defendant shot his wife at close range with a shotgun at their home at 10 Udell Court in Cortlandt Manor.

Mario Vallorosi, a 78-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident, was sentenced Wednesday to 3.5 years in prison for shooting his 74-year-old wife. A deputy sheriff responded to a report of a dispute on Marsh Hill Road in Putnam Valley on Nov. 28, shortly after 12:30 a.m. According to the report, the suspect had driven away from the scene in an "intoxicated condition." After locating the suspect a short distance away, the deputy determined that the suspect, later identified as Michael Sherpf, 49 of Cortlandt Manor, was intoxicated.

Cortlandt Manor resident James Tina has been battling with town officials to remove the industrial equipment of his neighbor's yard since 2008, according to a story by westchester.news12.com. Akintunde Akinleye, a Cortlandt Manor man, and Alberto Aviles, a Putnam Valley man, have been arrested and charged after a traffic stop in which police learned there was a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, digital scale and counterfeit $100 bills in their vehicle, and both were subject of active arrest warrants on Sunday, March 15, according to Putnam County's Sheriff's Department. Westchester man sentenced to 50 years for taping sex with minors, taking tapes out of state

WHITE PLAINS A Cortlandt Manor man was sentenced Monday to 50 years in federal prison for engaging in sexual activity with seven minors, all under the age of 11, for videotaping the sexual abuse, and for transporting videos depicting him engaged in sexual activity with minors to recipients outside New York. Authorities alleged that Dinizo used trickery and deceit to engage the young children.
