Kiran Treacy-Hind, 11, of Cortlandt Manor, earned first place in the children's competition for his poem, "Me and You", according to a statement from the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, which sponsors of the awards program. Presented annually, the poetry awards aim to "encourage poets to explore and illuminate positive visions of peace and the human spirit," according to the Foundation.
